Roanoke Valley Governor's School for Science and Technology

The Roanoke Valley Governor's School for Science and Technology is located in the Grandin Court neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia on the campus of Patrick Henry High School, and was established in 1985 as a result of the cooperative effort of seven regional school districts to improve education in mathematics and science. It is one of the state of Virginia's regional Governor's Schools. It has a faculty which included Gwen Sibert, the 2003 "Virginia Science Teacher of the Year.

Cave Spring, Virginia

Cave Spring is a census-designated place (CDP) in Roanoke County, Virginia, United States. The population was 24,922 at the 2010 census. Cave Spring covers much of the area known locally as "Southwest County" which has the most affluent suburbs of Roanoke. It is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Hidden Valley, Virginia

Hidden Valley is the name given to a wide, mostly unforested floodplain of the Jackson River some miles north of Virginia route 39 and west of US Route 220 in the George Washington National Forest. The Forest Service maintains the open character of the land by using it as a large hayfield. Otherwise it would quickly revert to lowland forest, little of which now exists in the eastern United States. Many people enjoy recreational activities on this mountain.

Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium

Lewis-Gale Field at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium is a minor league baseball park located in Salem, Virginia, and is part of the James E. Taliferro Sports and Entertainment Complex along with the Salem Civic Center and Salem Football Stadium, approximately 1 mile southeast of downtown. Opened on August 7, 1995 (1995-08-07), it is home to the Single-A Advanced Salem Red Sox of the Carolina League (CL) and can seat 6,300 people.
