Roanoke County is a county located in the U.S. state of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area and located within the Roanoke Region of Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the population was 85,778. As of 2012, the population was 93,256. Hidden Valley, Virginia

Hidden Valley is the name given to a wide, mostly unforested floodplain of the Jackson River some miles north of Virginia route 39 and west of US Route 220 in the George Washington National Forest. The Forest Service maintains the open character of the land by using it as a large hayfield. Otherwise it would quickly revert to lowland forest, little of which now exists in the eastern United States. Many people enjoy recreational activities on this mountain.

Kiwanis Field

Kiwanis Field is a stadium in Salem, Virginia which was opened in 1932. The ballpark has a capacity of 5,000 people and is primarily used for baseball. Kiwanis Field was the home of a Carolina League team known at various times as the Salem Rebels (which had previously played in the Appalachian League), Salem Pirates, Salem Redbirds, and Salem Buccaneers. The Salem Avalanche played here briefly in 1995 until they moved to the Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium.
