Giles County, Virginia

Giles County is a county located in the U.S. state of Virginia, and is part of the Blacksburg–Christiansburg–Radford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its county seat is Pearisburg, and as of 2010, the county's population was 17,286. Giles County is the location of Mountain Lake, one of only two natural fresh water lakes in Virginia. The Lake drains into Little Stony Creek, which passes over "The Cascades", a spectacular waterfall, before reaching the New River.

James Monroe High School (West Virginia)

James Monroe High School is the only public high school in Monroe County, West Virginia. It has 483 students by the methods of the WVSSAC. The building is also home to the Monroe County Vocational Technical Center. The school is located in Lindside, West Virginia. It was formed in 1993 by consolidation of the former Peterstown and Union high schools. It is named for James Monroe. The school's teams are stylized "Mavericks" and is expressed with western themes.
