State Fair of Virginia

The State Fair of Virginia is a state fair held annually at the end of September at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County, Virginia. Through 2008, the fair was held at the Richmond Raceway Complex, located in eastern Henrico County, just outside of the capital city of Richmond.

Meadow Event Park

Meadow Event Park is a large park and nature preserve in Doswell, Virginia, with several fields and facilities. It was the home of the State Fair of Virginia since 2009, when the moved from Richmond International Raceway. The 2009 state fair was the park's inaugural event. Since then, it has hosted several other events. Meadow Stables, now part of the park, was birthplace of famous racehorse Secretariat.

Doswell, Virginia

Doswell is an unincorporated community in Hanover County in the Central Region of the U.S. state of Virginia. Originally called Hanover Junction, it was located on the Virginia Central Railroad, which later became part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad (C&O) at a crossing of the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad, a north-south route.

Ruther Glen, Virginia

Ruther Glen is an unincorporated community in Caroline County, Virginia, located near the intersection of Interstate 95 and Virginia State Highway 207, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37|56|19.6152|N|77|28|17.2776|W|type:city | |name= }} (37.938782, -77.471466).
