Klickitat Trail

The Klickitat Trail is a 31-mile rail trail along the Klickitat River in southern Washington in the Columbia River Gorge. The cycling and hiking trail offers river and canyon views throughout its length. It follows an old railroad corridor that at one time linked the towns of Lyle and Goldendale. The trail consists of two sections; one along the Klickitat river, from Lyle to Swale Caynon, and the remainder which continues through Swale Caynon to Warwick.

Klickitat is a census-designated place (CDP) in Klickitat County, Washington, United States. The population was 417 at the 2000 census. Klickitat is an unincorporated town located along the Klickitat River. Once the site of a lumber mill it is now primarily a bedroom community. The closest major town in Washington is Goldendale. There are also several residential areas near Klickitat including, Pitt and Wahkiacus. On the Oregon side the nearest large towns are Hood River and The Dalles.

Ortley, Oregon

Ortley is a former town in Wasco County, Oregon, in the United States. It was located about one mile south of Rowena and about seven miles southeast of Mosier; the site is now on private land and no evidence of the townsite exists today. It is still classed as a populated place by the USGS.

Eighteenmile Island

Eighteenmile Island is a 9.89 acre (4 ha) island on the Oregon side of the Columbia River at river mile 174 in Wasco County, Oregon, United States. It is about a half mile (0.8 km) downstream of Mosier, Oregon and four miles (6.4 km) upstream of Hood River. It can be seen from Interstate 84, which runs along the Oregon side of the Columbia River, and from the Historic Columbia River Highway. A small rocky "island" downstream of Eighteenmile Island houses a navigational light.
