Chopaka, British Columbia

Chopaka is an unincorporated settlement near the US border on the west bank of the Similkameen River in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. Largely comprising two Indian Reserves, 'Chopaka IR No. 7 and Chopaka IR No. 8, the location was formerly listed as a railway station on the Burlington Northern Railway. There is a border crossing at Chopaka, open daily 9 AM to 5 PM. It is recommended to check with Canadian or US Customs to be sure one can cross the border here..

Nighthawk, Washington

Nighthawk is an unincorporated community on the Similkameen River in Okanogan County, Washington state, USA. It was named for a nearby (and now-closed) mine. Nighthawk is a (mostly former) logging area along Loomis-Oroville Highway west-northwest of Oroville, Washington. Nighthawk also features a border crossing and is located along the Burlington Northern Railroad.

Chopaka Lake

Chopaka Lake is a lake in Okanogan County, Washington. It covers an area of approximately 150 acres, is over 70 ft (21 m) deep at its deepest point, and is 3,200 ft (975 m) in elevation. The lake's name is that of a legendary Okanogan hunter who was transformed to stone by Coyote. It serves as an irrigation reservoir for local ranchers. Because the lake has no natural outlet, its water level is controlled by a wooden weir at one end.

Richter Pass

Richter Pass is a mountain pass to the south of the summit of British Columbia highway 3 (the Crowsnest Highway) between Keremeos (W) and Osoyoos (E), linking the Similkameen Valley with the South Okanagan over the southernmost end of the Thompson Plateau. The pass is traversed by Old Richter Pass Road and is ~650 m in elevation though the name is generally used for the route of Highway 3 as well.

Palmer Lake (Washington)

Palmer Lake is a lake in Okanogan County, in the U.S. state of Washington. Known as Haipwil to the local Indians, Palmer Lake is named for James Palmer, who had a cattle ranch at the north end of the lake around 1875.
