Camp Harmony

Camp Harmony was the unofficial name of the Puyallup Assembly Center, a temporary facility within the system of internment camps set up for Japanese Americans during World War II. Approximately 7,390 Americans of Japanese descent in Washington state were sent to the camp before being sent to the Minidoka relocation center near Twin Falls, Idaho. Camp Harmony was established in May 1942 shortly after the bombing attack on Pearl Harbor.

Stuck River (Washington)

The Stuck River in Washington state is a former small stream turned distributary and later final course of the White River, near Auburn to the Puyallup River at Sumner. The river's name comes from the Lushootseed word /stéq/, "log jam", or /stəx̣/, "gouged through", or "plowed through". Throughout the late 19th century, farmers in the valley attempted various flood control efforts that eventually allowed the White River to partially flow into the Stuck River in 1899.

Puyallup, Washington

Puyallup, Washington is a city in Pierce County, Washington about five miles (8 km) east of Tacoma. The population was 37,022 at the 2010 Census and the Washington State Office of Financial Management estimated the 2012 population at 37,620. Named after the Puyallup Tribe of Native Americans, Puyallup means "the generous people".
