Guemes Island

Guemes Island is a small island in western Skagit County, Washington state, USA. It is located north of Fidalgo Island and the town of Anacortes, and is accessible by both private boat and by the Guemes Island ferry operated by Skagit County. Guemes Island was named after the Viceroy of New Spain, Juan Vicente de Güemes, who commissioned an expedition that revealed the islands to Spain in 1791.

Vendovi Island

Vendovi Island is an island in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Located in Skagit County, Washington, USA, Vendovi Island lies across Samish Bay from mainland Skagit County, between Guemes Island and Lummi Island. Vendovi Island has a land area of 220.24 acres and a population of two persons was reported as of the 2000 census. The Island was named after a Fijian High Chief Ro Veidovi who was brought to North America by the Wilkes Expedition.

Cypress Island

Cypress Island is the westernmost part of Skagit County, Washington and is about halfway between the mainland and offshore San Juan County. It is separated from Blakely Island to the west by Rosario Strait and from Guemes Island to the east by Bellingham Channel. The island has a land area of 5,500 acres, and a population of 40 persons as of the 2000 United States Census.

Sinclair Island (Washington)

Sinclair Island is an island in the state of Washington, USA. It is a part of, and lies off the western shore of mainland Skagit County. The island has a land area of 4.109 km² (1.586 sq mi) and is home to only a few private residents. The name Sinclair was given by Charles Wilkes during the Wilkes Expedition of 1838-1842. It honors Arthur Sinclair, who was captain of General Pike during a naval battle of the War of 1812.

Department of Safety

The Department of Safety was an artist-run community space founded in 2002, located in Anacortes, Washington's old police and fire station. It housed an all-ages music venue, art gallery, artist residency program, zine library, darkroom, artists' studios and living amenities for a handful of residents. Department of Safety provided hostel accommodations for travelers from 2002 until 2005, when the operators decided to focus on the Artist in Residence program.
