Peshastin, Washington

Peshastin is a small unincorporated community in Chelan County, Washington, United States. The community's roots are found in the "Peshastin Ditch" dug by pioneers beginning in 1889. This ditch was an important part of the overall irrigation system in the area, delivering water to the orchards on the slopes above Cashmere. The town was first platted in the early 1890s by two brothers, J. Q. Gilbert and A. C. Gilbert.

Mansfield Branch (Great Northern Railway)

The Mansfield Branch Line, located in Eastern Washington State, Douglas County, was constructed by the Great Northern Railway in 1909, and was completed in just 9 months. Starting from the Columbia River and ending in Mansfield, the 60.62 miles of track cut through the southern portion of the Moses Coulee, snaked up Douglas Creek and made its way across the vast wheat fields of the Waterville Plateau.

Leavenworth (Amtrak station)

Leavenworth "Icicle" Station (LWA) is a station stop for Amtrak's Empire Builder in Leavenworth, Washington. The station started service on September 25, 2009. The station and parking are owned by the City of Leavenworth, Washington. The track and platforms are owned by BNSF Railway. There is no Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach connection at this station, but there is a stop at SR 2 and Icicle road.

Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum

Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum is a museum dedicated to nutcrackers, located in Leavenworth, Washington. Founded by Arlene Wagner and her husband George in 1995, the museum housed over 6,000 nutcrackers in 2010. Wagner studied ballet under Alexandra Danilova, and subsequently became a ballet instructor. She taught multiple productions of The Nutcracker, and became enamored of nutcrackers. She began collecting them during the 1960s.
