Lake Mills (Washington)

Lake Mills was a reservoir formed by the Glines Canyon Dam on the Elwha River, and was located about 13 miles from the mouth of the river on the Olympic Peninsula. It was fully contained within Olympic National Park. It was formed in 1927 with the completion of the dam and after the lowland forest that occupied the river bottom was clear-cut.

Glines Canyon Dam

Glines Canyon Dam (also known as Upper Elwha Dam), built in 1927, was a 210-foot high concrete arch dam that formed Lake Mills 13 miles upstream from the Elwha River's mouth. Lacking passage for migrating salmon, its construction blocked access by anadromous salmonids to the upper 38 miles (61 km) of mainstem habitat and more than 30 miles of tributary habitat. The Elwha River watershed once supported salmon runs of more than 400,000 adult returns on more than 70 miles of river habitat.

Wolf Creek Falls

Wolf Creek Falls is located in Olympic National Park in Clallam County, Washington approximately 10 miles (16 km) south west of Port Angeles, Washington. The falls is located on Wolf Creek, a tributary of the Elwha River. The falls is a tiered falls with drops totaling about 100 feet.

Geyser Valley trail

The Geyser Valley trail in Olympic National Park is an area along the Elwha River between Rica Canyon and the Grand Canyon of the Elwha, where many homesteaders tried to eke out a living in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Today, this trail allows hikers to visit several interesting sites, as well as, providing several loops of different lengths. The route begins at Whiskey Bend Trailhead, at the end of Whiskey Bend road, approximately 5 miles from the Elwha Ranger Station.

Goblins Gate

Goblins Gate, or Goblin Gates, is a narrow gorge, about 20 feet across, on the Elwha River in the U.S. state of Washington. It is located in Olympic National Park where the Elwha River enters Rica Canyon, 8.9 kilometres east-southeast of Olympic Hot Springs. Toponymist Smitty Parratt described Goblins Gate: "... the Elwha River swerves at a severe right angle and tumbles into an extremely narrow cliffside opening.
