Grant County Airport is a public use airport in Grant County, West Virginia, United States. It is located one nautical mile southwest of the central business district of Petersburg, West Virginia, and owned by the Grant County Airport Authority. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.

Smoke Hole Caverns

Smoke Hole Caverns (SHC) is a picturesque show cave in Grant County in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. SHC were opened to the public on 30 May 1940. They are located near the Smoke Hole Canyon from which the cave takes its name. They are located on WV 28 13 km west of Petersburg. Local lore has it that the cave was utilized during Prohibition by moonshiners.

Grant County, West Virginia

Grant County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 11,937. http://quickfacts. census. gov/qfd/states/54/54023. html Its county seat is Petersburg. Grant County was created from Hardy County in 1866 and named for General Ulysses Simpson Grant. After the American Civil War, there was an effort by former Confederates to name it 'Lee County' instead after General Robert E. Lee, but the effort proved fruitless.
