St. Marys, West Virginia

St. Marys is a city in Pleasants County, West Virginia, in the United States. The population was 1,860 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pleasants County. St. Marys was established in 1849 by Alexander Creel, who is said to have had a vision of Mary while passing the townsite by boat on the Ohio River. St. Marys is part of the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Train tracks run down the middle of 2nd Street in St.

Newport, Washington County, Ohio

Newport is a census-designated place in eastern Newport Township, Washington County, Ohio, United States. Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 45768. Newport lies along the Ohio River several miles above the county seat of Marietta. Its main street is formed by State Route 7. Newport is the location of the Carpenter Bridge, which carries State Route 807 over the Ohio River. It is the first bridge over the Ohio River above Marietta.
