Carter is an unincorporated community in Upshur County, West Virginia, United States of America. Carter is served by the French Creek Post Office and its Zip Code: 26218. The unincorporated community of Carter lies at the three-way junction of County Route 11 (Alexander-Helvetia road), Natural Bridge Road, and Waterloo Road. Upshur County, West Virginia

Upshur County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 24,254. http://quickfacts. census. gov/qfd/states/54/54097. html. Its county seat is the City of Buckhannon. Upshur County was formed in 1851 from Randolph, Barbour, and Lewis Counties and named for Abel Parker Upshur, a distinguished statesman and jurist of Virginia.
