Whistling Straits

Whistling Straits is one of two 36-hole golf destinations associated with The American Club, a luxury resort located in nearby Kohler, Wisconsin, and owned by a subsidiary of the Kohler Company. The other is Blackwolf Run, west of the city of Sheboygan. The Whistling Straits complex is located north of Sheboygan, in the unincorporated community of Haven in the Town of Mosel in Sheboygan County.

2004 PGA Championship

The 2004 PGA Championship was the 86th PGA Championship, played August 12–15 at the Straits Course of the Whistling Straits complex in Haven, Wisconsin. It was the first major championship held at Whistling Straits. Vijay Singh earned his third major title in a three-hole playoff, defeating Justin Leonard and Chris DiMarco. The purse was $6.25 million and the winner's share was $1.125 million.

2010 PGA Championship

The 2010 PGA Championship was the 92nd PGA Championship, played August 12–15 at the Straits Course of the Whistling Straits complex in Haven, Wisconsin. Martin Kaymer won his first major championship in a three-hole playoff over Bubba Watson. It was the second PGA Championship in six years at Whistling Straits, the first in 2004 was won by Vijay Singh, also in a playoff. Television coverage was provided in the United States by CBS and TNT, and in the United Kingdom by Sky Sports.
