Peshtigo, Wisconsin

Peshtigo is a city in Marinette County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,502 at the 2010 census. The city is located within the Town of Peshtigo. It is part of the Marinette, WI–MI Micropolitan Statistical Area. Peshtigo is most famous as the site of the Peshtigo Fire of 1871, in which more than 1,200 people perished.

Peshtigo Fire Museum

The Peshtigo Fire Museum is a museum in Peshtigo, Wisconsin pertaining to the 1871 Peshtigo Fire and to other local history. There were 11,555 visitors to the museum in 2000. The museum is located adjacent to the Peshtigo Fire Cemetery, where the charred remains of over 350 people were buried in a mass grave. The cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

WHYB

WHYB (103.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Menominee, Michigan and serving the areas of Menominee, neighboring Marinette, Wisconsin, and the immediate border area of Upper Michigan and Northeast Wisconsin. The station is owned by Armada Media and broadcasts an oldies music format. The station launched in 1984 as WCJL-FM, broadcasting at 106.3 FM. Under the ownership of CJL broadcasting, WCJL-FM aired a CHR format branded as "Hits 106.

WLST

WLST (95.1 FM) is a radio station licensed to Marinette, Wisconsin broadcasting a country music format. 95.1 FM had been an adult contemporary format (as "The Wave", previously known by the monikers "Live 95" and "Easy Rock 95") station up until January, 2008 when Armada Media swapped formats between WLST and WHYB in Menominee, Michigan. WHYB became "The Wave" while the higher powered WLST took on the "Cat Country" name and format. Original call letters were WLOT-FM.
