Pickerel is an unincorporated community in the northeast corner of Langlade County, Wisconsin, United States. The community is located on Wisconsin Highway 55, in the town of Langlade. Pickerel is 19 miles northeast of Antigo, the county seat of Langlade County. Pickerel has a post office with ZIP code 54465. The community has a volunteer fire department, which also serves the Town of Ainsworth and part of the Town of Nashville in Forest County.

Battle of Mole Lake

Battle of Mole Lake 1806 was a battle between Sioux and Chippewa warriors fought over ancient wild rice beds which exist to this day in Forest County north east Wisconsin, just south of Crandon in the community of Mole Lake, home to the Sokaogon Chippewa Community.

Mole Lake, Wisconsin

Mole Lake, Wisconsin is an unincorporated census-designated place located in the town of Nashville in Forest County, Wisconsin, United States. The community is located on Wisconsin Highway 55 in the Mole Lake Indian Reservation. As of the 2010 census, its population is 435. Mole Lake has an area of 4.160 square miles; 3.698 square miles of this is land, and 0.462 square miles is water. It is named after the Mole Lake tribe. The tribe's Mole Lake Casino is located in the community.

Sokaogon Chippewa Community

The Sokaogon Chippewa Community, or the Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, is a band of the Lake Superior Chippewa, many of whom reside on the Mole Lake Indian Reservation, an Indian reservation located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:45|29|52|N|88|59|20|W| | |name= }} in Mole Lake, Wisconsin, in Forest County near Crandon. The Mole Lake Indian Reservation is 4,904.2 acres (1984.7 ha) in size, and includes land around Rice Lake, Bishop Lake, and Mole Lake.
