Guernsey State Park

Lake Guernsey State Park, also known as Guernsey State Park Historic District, Lake Guernsey Park, Guernsey Lake Park, or Guernsey State Park, is a historic district and state park near Guernsey, Wyoming. In addition to the historic district, the park contains Guernsey Reservoir on the North Platte River. As a historic district the park was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1997 for its Civilian Conservation Corps buildings and structures.

Guernsey Dam

Guernsey Dam is an earthfill dam on the North Platte River in Platte County in the U.S. State of Wyoming. The dam creates Guernsey Reservoir, the last of the 5 major reservoirs on the North Platte River in Wyoming. The dam contains a hydroelectric plant capable of 6.4 megawatts of electricity. The total capacity of the reservoir is 71,040 acre feet of water which is used mainly for irrigation.

Fort Platte

Fort Platte was a stronghold and trading post established by Lancaster Lupton that was active between 1840 and 1846. The fort competed with Fort Laramie which was only one mile away and quickly surpassed it due to a superior supply system. In 1842, due to economic losses, Lupton had to sell the fort and it was bought by the successful fur trading firm Pratte and Cabanné who managed it from 1843 to 1845.
