Fishing Bridge Museum

The Fishing Bridge Museum is one of a series of "trailside museums" in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, designed by architect Herbert Maier in a style that has become known as National Park Service Rustic. It is one of three parts of a 1987-declared National Historic Landmark, the Norris, Madison, and Fishing Bridge Museums. It seems not to have been listed separately on the National Register of Historic Places as the other two were.

Stevenson Island (Wyoming)

Stevenson Island is a small, uninhabited island in Yellowstone Lake, Teton County, Wyoming. It was originally called Stevenson's Island after Colonel James D. Stevenson, and is now sometimes called Stevensons Island. The island is long and narrow, lying in a generally north-south orientation. At the widest, it is about 250 metres, and the length is about 1,800 metres long. It is about 2.5 kilometres from the west shore of Yellowstone Lake, where Weasel Creek enters the lake.

Yellowstone fires of 1988

The Yellowstone fires of 1988 together formed the largest wildfire in the recorded history of the U.S. 's Yellowstone National Park. Starting as many smaller individual fires, the flames spread quickly out of control with increasing winds and drought and combined into one large conflagration, which burned for several months.

Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone Lake is the largest body of water in Yellowstone National Park, The lake is 7,732 feet (2,376 m) above sea level and covers 136 square miles with 110 miles (177 km) of shoreline. While the average depth of the lake is 139 feet (42 m) its deepest spot is at least 390 feet (118 m). Yellowstone Lake is the largest freshwater lake above 7,000 feet (2,133 m) in North America. In winter, ice nearly 3 feet (1 m) thick covers much of the lake, except where shallow water covers hot springs.

Hayden Valley

Hayden Valley is a large, sub-alpine valley in Yellowstone National Park straddling the Yellowstone River between Yellowstone Falls and Yellowstone Lake. The valley floor along the river is an ancient lake bed from a time when Yellowstone Lake was much larger. The valley is well known as one of the best locations to view wildlife in Yellowstone.
