Chadiza

Chadiza is a town in the Eastern Province of Zambia, and is headquarters of Chadiza District. It lies 35 km south of the Great East Road and about 80 km south-south-west of Chipata on a plateau (elevation 1050 m) studded by isolated rocky hills, between the middle Luangwa valley and the Zambezi.

Chadiza District

Chadiza District with the headquarters at Chadiza lies in the extreme south-east corner of Zambia, bordering Malawi to its east and Mozambique to its south. The eastern half of the district is characterised by wooded rocky hills rising to 1330 m while the western half has the same character as the land around Chadiza town. This part of the district has been almost completely deforested and suffers soil erosion. As of the 2000 Zambian Census, the district had a population of 83,981 people.
