Zebak, Afghanistan
Zebak (also Zibak or Zebok) is the capital of the Zebak District in the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan. The city is based in the delta of the Sanglich river. It lies at the foot of the Daliz Pass on one of the natural routes that connects it with Tajikistan approximately 35 kilometers to the north, and with Pakistan which is just 20 kilometers to the south. It has a distincive landscape and is known for its scenic pasture and natural springs.

Ishkoshim, Tajikistan
Ishkoshim, also Ishkashim, is the capital of Ishkoshim District in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province in south-east Tajikistan. It lies on the Panj River, at a point where its direction turns sharply north. Ishkoshim lies opposite a town of the same name in Afghanistan, although the name of the Afghan town is normally transliterated Ishkashim following Persian practice. A bridge opened in 2006 links the two towns.

Ishkashim District is one of the 29 districts of Badakhshan Province in eastern Afghanistan. The capital is the city of Ishkashim . The people of the region are called Tajiks and some of them speak the Ishkashimi language. The total population of the district is approximately 11,000 residents. Ishkashim District lies along the international border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, where there is a settlement with the same name The border is currently only open for humanitarian deliveries.
