Vlorë County

The County of Vlorë (Albanian: Qarku i Vlorës) is one of the 12 counties of Albania. It consists of the districts Delvinë, Sarandë and Vlorë and its capital is Vlorë. As of January 1, 2010 the population of the Vlore District was estimated to be 211,773. Vlorë's western and southern edges are the shorelines of the Strait of Otranto, which separates it from the island of Corfu. The County forms the integral part of the Albanian Riviera. In the far southeast it has a small border with Greece.

St. Mary's Church, Himarë

St. Mary's Church (Albanian: Kisha e Shën Mërisë së Athalit, Greek: Καθολικό Μονής Παναγίας Αθαλιώτισσας) is the katholikon of the monastery of Panagia (Theotokos) Athaliottisa, in Himarë, Vlorë County, Albania. It is a Cultural Monument of Albania.

Porto Palermo Castle

Porto Palermo Castle is a castle near Himarë in southern Albania. It is situated in the bay of Porto Palermo, a few kilometers south of Himarë. The well preserved castle is commonly, but wrongly, asserted, by guide books and the local tourist guides, to have been built in early 19th century by Ali Pasha of Tepelena. It looks to have been built prior to the evolution of the star fort design.

Labëria

Labëria is a historic region that is roughly situated in the northern parts of Epirus (present-day Southern Albania). Its inhabitants are known as Labs (Liapis)and its boundaries reach from Vlorë to Himara in the south, to the Greek border near Sarandë, incorporating the Kuverlesh region of Gjirokastër District and extending east to the city of Tepelenë. Labëria is culturally distinguishable from the rest of Albania in its traditions and folklore.
