Luanda International School

The Luanda International School in Luanda, Angola is a private, non-profit, coeducational day school, which offers an educational program from pre-school through to grade 10. The school was founded in October 1996 by five persons interested in the creation of an English medium international school in Angola. Oil related companies have supported the venture.

National Museum of Slavery (Angola)

The National Museum of Slavery is located in Morro da Cruz, Luanda, Angola. The museum was founded in 1997 by the National Institute of Cultural Patrimony, with the objective of depicting the history of slavery in Angola. The museum adjoins the Capela da Casa Grande, a 17th Century structure where slaves were baptised before being put on slave ships for transport to the Americas.

Estádio Joaquim Dinis

Estádio Joaquim Dinis is a multi-use stadium in Luanda, Angola. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Atlético Sport Aviação. The stadium holds 10,000 people and was built in 2003.

Kilamba

Nova Cidade de Kilamba (Kilamba New City) is a large housing development 30 km (18 miles) from Luanda, the capital city of Angola. It is being built by the China International Trust and Investment Corporation and is largely empty. Kilamba was designed to accommodate 500,000 people and includes 750 eight-storey apartment blocks, over 100 commercial premises and a dozen schools.

Mussulo

Mussulo is a peninsula located south of Luanda in the Benfica e Mussulo commune of the Belas municipio of the province of Luanda. It is actually a spit created by sediments from the Cuanza River, moved north by the Benguela Current. It is about 30 km long, at most 3 km wide, and at the narrowest parts in the south of the peninsula, less than 100 metres. Mussulo is linked to land at the Punto dos Palmeirinhas, the westernmost point of Luanda province.
