Taralga, New South Wales

Taralga is a small village in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Upper Lachlan Shire. It is located at the intersection of the Goulburn-Oberon Road and the Laggan-Taralga Road. It is accessible from Oberon to the north, Mittagong to the east, Goulburn to the south, and Crookwell to the west. At the 2006 census, Taralga had a population of 312 people. The exact origin of the name Taralga is disputed.

Bolong River

Bolong River, a watercourse that is part of the Lachlan catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the central–western region of New South Wales, Australia. The river rises on the northern slopes of Loadstone Hill, west of Taralga and east of Crookwell and flows generally north–west, before reaching its confluence with the Abercrombie River within Abercrombie River National Park; dropping 336 metres over its course of 60 kilometres .

McAlister railway station

McAlister was a railway station on the Crookwell railway line, New South Wales, Australia. The station opened in 1902 with the opening of the line, and consisted of a 100 ft platform on the up side of the line with a loop siding on the down side. It was named after magistrate Lachlan McAlister. Some goods facilities were removed in the 1930s and the station and loop closed in 1969 and were subsequently removed.

Roslyn railway station

Roslyn was a railway station on the Crookwell railway line, New South Wales, Australia. The station opened in 1902 with the opening of the line, and consisted of a 100 ft platform on the down side of the line with a loop siding on the up side. Cattle loading facilities and goods sheds were also provided. It was named after the estate of a local resident Dr Mitchell. In 1925, the station became the location of the branch line to Taralga, with the new branch extending off the loop line..
