Morses Creek

Morses Creek flows into the Ovens River at Bright, Victoria, Australia. Bright was originally named Morse's Creek. The name was changed to Bright in 1861 after British Statesman John Bright who lived from 1811 to 1889.

Mount Buffalo National Park

Mount Buffalo is a mountain plateau in Victoria, 200 km northeast of Melbourne. It is one of the oldest parks in the Australian Alps, being first established in 1898 when an area of 1165 hectares was reserved around Eurobin Falls. In 1908 it was expanded to over 105 km² and the park now covers 310 km² over the plateau and foothills of Mount Buffalo. Mount Buffalo is a moderately tall mountain plateau (elev 1723 metres AHD at its highest point) on the west side of the Victoria Alpine region.

1940 Brocklesby mid-air collision

On 29 September 1940, a mid-air collision occurred over Brocklesby, New South Wales, Australia. The accident was unusual in that the aircraft involved, two Avro Ansons of No.  2 Service Flying Training School RAAF, remained locked together after colliding, and then managed to land safely. Both navigators and the pilot of the lower Anson bailed out after the aircraft struck.

Wandiligong

Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria, Australia. The town is located on Morses Creek and in the Alpine Shire local government area, 6 kilometres south of Bright and 330 kilometres north east of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Wandiligong had a population of 281. Wandiliong was established in the 1850s during the Victorian gold rush and at one stage the town was home to 2,000 people.

Great Dividing Trail

The Great Dividing Trail is a multi-use track through the historical Goldfields region of Victoria to the north-west and west of Melbourne. The trail passes along the southern most parts of Australia's Great Dividing Range. The Great Dividing Trail has four legs, three of which meet at Daylesford. The trail was primarily intended for hiking, but has proven attractive to mountain bikers, and is being further developed for that purpose.
