At the 2011 Census, Tynong had a population of 683. Tynong was settled in the early 1880s and the Post Office opened on 1 November 1882. Gumbuya Park
Gumbuya Park is a small amusement park in Tynong North, Victoria, near Pakenham, Melbourne, Australia. It features a toboggan slide, water slide, paddle boats, "mini cars" and mini golf. Themed as "nature's playground", it also features native wildlife including, kangaroos, wallabies, Australian birds, wombats, dingoes and emus, which can be fed. It is quite large in area and has several barbecue and picnic areas and a restaurant with adjourning bushland. It was originally a pheasant farm.
