St. Joseph's Priory, Maria Roggendorf

St. Joseph's Priory, Maria Roggendorf (German: Stift Sankt Josef, Maria Roggendorf) is a Benedictine priory located in the long-established pilgrimage centre of Maria Roggendorf in the district of Hollabrunn in Lower Austria. It was founded on 7 September 1991 by Göttweig Abbey and recognised as an independent priory on 11 December 2005. It is a member of the Austrian Congregation of the Benedictine Confederation.

Marienfeld Abbey (Austria)

Marienfeld Abbey is a Cistercian nunnery in Marienfeld, Wullersdorf, eight kilometres north of Hollabrunn. It was founded by Hans Hermann Groër as a sister house of Mariastern Abbey. Its construction began in 1974 and it was opened on 14 November 1982 by Franz König, then Archbishop of Vienna.

Battle of Hollabrunn (1809)

The Battle of Hollabrunn was a rearguard action fought on 9 July 1809 by Austrian VI Korps of the Kaiserlich-königliche Hauptarmee Hauptarmee under Johann von Klenau against elements of the French IV Corps of the Grande Armée d'Allemagne, under the command of André Masséna.

Battle of Schöngrabern

The Battle of Schöngrabern (also known as the Battle of Hollabrunn) was an engagement in the Napoleonic Wars during the War of the Third Coalition, fought on 16 November 1805 near Hollabrunn in Lower Austria, four weeks after the Battle of Ulm and two weeks before the Battle of Austerlitz. The Russian army of Kutuzov was retiring north of the Danube before the French army of Napoleon.
