1859 Shamakhi earthquake
The 1859 Shamakhi earthquake was a 5.9-magnitude earthquake on 11 June 1859 which struck the Baku Governorate region of Azerbaijan, which was at the time part of the Russian Empire. The quake caused moderate damage but killed an estimated 100 people.
