Surazh is a town and the administrative center of Surazhsky District, Bryansk Oblast, Russia, located on the Iput River 177 kilometers southwest of Bryansk. Population: 11,640; 12,046; 12,559; 1,599 (1897). It was first mentioned in the 17th century as the village of Surazhichi (Суражичи); later as a sloboda.
