Brasserie d'Achouffe

The Brasserie d'Achouffe is a Belgian brewery based in Achouffe. It was founded in 1982 by two brothers-in-law, Pierre Gobron and Christian Bauweraerts, as a hobby. In 1984, Gobron decided to quit his job and to concentrate on his brewery, joined four years later by Bauweraerts. That year (1988), they began to export the beer to Quebec. In September 2006, the brewery was bought by the brewery group Duvel Moortgat. The beers have a gnome on their label.

Achouffe

Achouffe is a small village in the municipality of Houffalize, in Wallonia, Belgium. It is located in the forested Ardennes region. Situated within the Bastogne district of Luxembourg province, it lies between the towns of Wibrin and Mont on the Rue de la Gréve (also known as the Rue d'Achouffe). Outside of the region, Achouffe is primarily known as the home of the Brasserie d'Achouffe, producers of La Chouffe craft beer as well as a liqueur distilled from their beer.

Thorn Abbey

Thorn Abbey or Imperial Abbey of Thorn was an imperial abbey of the Holy Roman Empire in was is now the Netherlands. The capital was Thorn. It was founded in the 10th century; independence ended in 1794, when it was occupied by French troops. The abbey was reichsunmittelbar and belonged to the Lower Rhenish-Westphalian Circle. The territory covered about 1.5 square kilometers with 3400 inhabitants in 1790.

Lake Nisramont

Lake Nisramont is located in east of Belgium on the river Ourthe in the municipality of La Roche-en-Ardenne. The dam has a length of 116 m and is 16 m high. The volume of water is 3,000,000 m³ and the area of the lake is 0.47 km². The dam has Fish ladders and a hydro-electric power station. It is a tourist attraction, with water sports, including canoeing, fishing.
