San Joaquin, Corozal

San Joaquin is a village in the Corozal District of Belize. With a population of about 2000 people, it is one of the largest villages in Corozal. The town was formed as a result of Mestizos migrating to escape the 1847–1901 Caste War of Yucatán.

Louisville, Belize

Louisville is a village in the Corozal District of the nation of Belize, located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:18|19|N|88|30|W||| | |name= }}. According to the 2000 census, it had a population of 655 people. Some substantial artificial mounds at Louisville are the remains of an ancient city of the Maya civilization. New River (Belize)

The New River, also Rio Nuevo, is a river in northern Belize. As the longest river that is entirely confined to Belize, it drains primarily the eastern part of the Orange Walk District during its north-northeasterly course and empties into the Chetumal Bay. The river forms also the New River Lagoon, the largest body of fresh water in Belize, just east of the Maya temples of Lamanai. The New River is a habitat to numerous types of fish, birds, as well as to crocodiles.

Xaibe

Xaibe is little rural settlement in the country of Belize. It is located in the Corozal District. The name Xaibe literally means 'crossroads'. This may well account for the village been located en route to other villages and destinations. The people of the Mayan civilization often traversed across the village to reach other Mayan villages.
