Stueng Trang is a large border district in the north of the province located on the Mekong River. The district lies on the border between Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom and Kratie provinces. It is the birthplace of Cambodia's Prime Minister, Samdech Hun Sen.

Kampong Cham (city)
Kampong Cham is the capital city of the Kampong Cham Province in eastern Cambodia. It is the third largest city in Cambodia with a population of 63,771 people (2006) and is located on the Mekong River. Kampong Cham is 124 kilometers northeast from Phnom Penh and can be reached by either boat or by asphalt road. It takes about 2.5 hours by vehicle or 2.5 hours by boat from Phnom Penh to the city of Kampong Cham. Its geographic location is 12.00°N, 105.46°E.

Kizuna bridge
The Kizuna bridge is a bridge on the Mekong in the town of Kampong Cham and in the district of Kampong Cham. It was opened in 2001 and was the first bridge to be built over the Mekong river in Cambodia. Construction of the bridge was funded by a $56 million grant from the Japanese government. At 1500 metres in length it was the longest bridge in Cambodia until the 1900 metre Thai-Cambodian bridge was built in Koh Kong in 2002.
