The Glenbow area is immediately west of Bearspaw. The name Glendale originates from the Canadian Pacific Railway station that was established at Glenbow in 1907. Glenbow is descriptive and refers to its location: it lies 'in a glen on the Bow'. The name is a combination of two words.
