Glenbow, Alberta

Glenbow is a rural community in southern Alberta, in Rocky View County. The community is located northwest of the City of Calgary and east of the Town of Cochrane, on Highway 1A. The Glenbow area is immediately west of Bearspaw. The name Glendale originates from the Canadian Pacific Railway station that was established at Glenbow in 1907. Glenbow is descriptive and refers to its location: it lies 'in a glen on the Bow'. The name is a combination of two words.

Cochrane Lake, Alberta

Cochrane Lake is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. Statistics Canada also recognizes it as a designated place under the name of Cochrane Lake Subdivision. Cochrane Lake is located approximately 45 km (23 mi) northwest of the City of Calgary and 1.6 km (1.0 mi) north of the Town of Cochrane on the west side of Highway 22.
