Harrow, Ontario

Harrow is a community located in the town of Essex, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. Hiram Walker, of Canadian Club Whisky fame is credited with putting Harrow on the map. Walker built the railroad, which then brought grain from the South end of the County into the city for use in his distillery. The tracks remained for over 100 years, and were finally removed in 1992 to be replaced with the Chrysler Canada Greenway, part of the Trans Canada Trail.

Eugene Whelan

Eugene "Gene" Francis Whelan,  PC OC CD  PAg, LLD, /ˈhwiːlən/, (July 11, 1924 – February 19, 2013) was a Canadian politician, sitting in the House of Commons from 1962 to 1984, and in the Senate from 1996 to 1999. He was also Minister of Agriculture under Pierre Trudeau from 1972 to 1984, and became one of Canada’s best-known politicians.
