Kenton, Manitoba
Kenton is a community in Manitoba, Canada. It is located in the Rural Municipality of Woodworth, about an hour's drive west of Brandon, Manitoba. The first permanent settlement of the area began in 1881, following the westward expansion of the borders of the province of Manitoba. The settlement was named for its first postmaster, A.W. Kent. Kenton became an unincorporated village district in 1947. In 1986 the community had a population of 158.

Fort Montagne à la Bosse
Fort Montagne à la Bosse (literally "Hump Mountain") was a North West Company trading post from 1790 until 1805 or after. It was located near Virden, Manitoba on the Assiniboine River at the point where the river bends from southeast to east. For background see Assiniboine River fur trade. At some point it was closed and reopened in 1794. It was on the prairie and produced buffalo and wolf skins more than beaver, but its primary product was pemmican to feed the voyageurs further north.
