Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador

Holyrood is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is in Division No. 1, on Conception Bay. During King William's War, the village was destroyed in the Avalon Peninsula Campaign. The town is famous for being at the bottom of the bay and having a large cross on the top of the predominant mountain "George Cove". Holyrood is also renowned for its squid fishery and caplin "rolling" which happens in late spring, early summer.

Butter Pot Provincial Park

Butter Pot Provincial Park is a Provincial Park on the Avalon Peninsula of the island of Newfoundland. The park covers an area of approximately 28 km² and is located on the Trans-Canada Highway about 35 km southwest of St. John's. The park is named for a prominent rounded hill (Butter Pot Hill, 303 m) inside the park boundary. Butter Pot incorporates both day-use and overnight camping facilities, and in winter months provides groomed cross-country ski trails.

Avondale, Newfoundland and Labrador

Avondale is a Canadian town located on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The community is situated at the southwestern head of Conception Bay in Division No. 1. It is located 59 km southwest of St. John's and 72 km northeast of Placentia. Prior to January 1, 1898 Avondale was known as Salmon Cove but was renamed to avoid confusion with two other nearby communities of the same name in the Port de Grave and Brigus Districts.
