Petty Harbour Generating Station

The Petty Harbour Hydro Electric Generating Station which began construction in 1898 was the first hydroelectric generating station in Newfoundland and Labrador. It was built by the St. John's Street Railway Company, a company established by Robert Reid. Operation commenced on April 19, 1900. In 1920 Reid renamed the company the St. John's Light and Power Company.

Petty Harbour – Maddox Cove is a picturesque town of approximately 950 people located on the eastern shore of the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is nestled deep in the heart of Motion Bay, just south (approximately 15 minutes away) of St. John's.

Goulds, St. John's

Goulds is a rural neighbourhood in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Goulds, a former town, was amalgamted with Wedgewood Park into the city of St. John's in 1991. With an estimated population of 12,000, the community is located south west of the city centre. While it is disincorporated, Goulds is a rural community within the city limits. The area offer kindergarten to grade 12 education through three schools; Goulds Elementary for grades K-6, St.

CJON-DT

CJON-DT (branded on-air as NTV, short for "Newfoundland Television") is an English language independent television station in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It broadcasts a high-definition digital signal on UHF channel 21 from a transmitter atop the South Side Hills, and also operates additional transmitters throughout the province. Owned by Stirling Communications International (run by Geoff Stirling and his family), its studios are located on Logy Bay Road in St. John's.

Bowring Park (St. John's)

Bowring Park, located in the Waterford Valley, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, is one of the most scenic parks in the city. Entrance to the park is via Waterford Bridge Road, passing a sculptured duck pond and a statue of Peter Pan. The park land was donated to the city in 1911 by Sir Edgar Rennie Bowring on behalf of Bowring Brothers Ltd. on their 100th anniversary of commerce in Newfoundland. The park was officially opened by His Royal Highness, the Duke of Connaught.
