DesBrisay Museum

The DesBrisay Museum is a museum showcasing the history of the town of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and the surrounding area, including its inhabitants and architecture, whose collection is due to the efforts of Judge Mather Byles DesBrisay. Upon his death, DesBrisay left his collection to the town and in 1967, the museum was established. The museum is funded, in part, by the Province of Nova Scotia as well as by the town of Bridgewater and a number of different fundraising initiatives.

Dayspring, Nova Scotia

Dayspring is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Lunenburg Municipal District in Lunenburg County. It is home to the traditional wooden shipyard, Snyders Shipbuilding, builders of Theodore Too, among many other vessels . During the French and Indian War, there were a number of Mi'kmaq and Acadian raids on the newly arrived Protestant settlers on the Lunenburg Peninsula.

River John

This article is about the river. See River John, Nova Scotia for the article about the village. River John is a river in Nova Scotia. Draining the extreme western part of Pictou County, it flows into Amet Sound on the Northumberland Strait at River John, a village which takes its name from the river. The Mi’kmaq name is Kajeboogwek (“flowing through desert or solitary place”). An early name was Deception River.
