The Qiongzhou Strait, also called the Hainan Strait, is a body of water that separates the Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, southern China, to the north from Hainan Island to its south. The strait connects the Gulf of Tonkin in the west to the James Shoal on the eastern edge of the South China Sea. Xuwen County is a county of Guangdong Province, China. It is under the administration of Zhanjiang city. It is the southernmost county of Guangdong Province. Baishamen Lighthouse

Baishamen Lighthouse, located on Haidian Island, Haikou, the province of Hainan, China, is the sixth tallest lighthouse in the world, and the second tallest in China. Rising from a 3-storey hexagonal base, this structure is 236 feet tall. This active lighthouse has a focal plane of 256 feet with a white flash every 6 seconds. The triangular, cylindrical tower and base are made entirely of white concrete.
