Tolima State

Tolima State was one of the states of Colombia. On July 12, 1861, after raising in arms against the constitutional government of the president Mariano Ospina Rodríguez, the general Tomas Cipriano de Mosquera created the Tolima State, carved out of Cundinamarca State. In 1863 it bordered: Cauca State in the South and the West. Antioquia State in the North.

Estadio Manuel Murillo Toro

The Estadio Manuel Murillo Toro is a sports arena located in Ibagué, capital of the department of Tolima. It currently has a capacity of 30,000 spectators. In the stadium, whose main use is for the football, play at home on Deportes Tolima, team of the Colombian Categoría Primera A. It is known to be the stage where the Brazilian player Ronaldo played the last game of his pro career on February 2, 2011 with Corinthians against Deportes Tolima in the Copa Libertadores 2011.

Museo de Arte del Tolima

The Museo de Arte del Tolima (MAT) is an art museum located in Ibagué, capital of the Tolima Department of Colombia. It features pieces of Colombian art and contemporary Latin American art. The museum was founded by the artists Dario Ortiz, Julio Cesar Cuitiva, Margareth Bonilla Morales, and others and opened its doors to the public in December 2003. It offers a significant permanent collection as well as educational program and cultural programs to its visitors.
