Academy at Dundee Ranch was a behavior modification facility for United States teenagers, located on La Ceiba Cascajal, 10 kilometres west of Orotina, province of Alajuela, Costa Rica. It was promoted as a residential school, offering a program of behavior modification, motivational "emotional growth seminars," a progressive academic curriculum, and a structured daily schedule, for teenagers struggling in their homes, schools, or communities.

Orotina is the name of the ninth canton in the province of Alajuela in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 141.92 square kilometres, and has a population of 16,651 (estimate as of 2003). The capital city of the canton is also called Orotina. The canton lies on the western side of the Coastal Mountain Range between the Río Jesús María and Río Machuca on the north and the Río Grande de Tárcoles on the south.

The capital city of the canton is also called San Mateo. The northern border of the elongated province is formed by the Río Jesús María, Río Machuca, Río Agua Agría, Río Calera and Quebrada Zapote. The Quebrada Concepción, Río Grande de Tárcoles and the Río Machuca establish the southern border.
