Dota (canton)
Dota is the name of the 17th canton in the province of San José in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 400.22 square kilometres, and has a population of 6,940 (estimate as of 2003). The capital city of the canton is Santa María. The canton is delineated by the Río Savegre on the south and southeast, the Río Naranjo on the west and the Cordillera de Talamanca on the north and northeast.

Orosí
Orosi is a town in the Cartago Province in Costa Rica, about 35 kilometers south of the capital San José. Orosi is situated on the Reventazón River in the Orosi Valley. The cultivation of coffee is the leading industry in the area. Orosi has a population of approximately 4,600 and has the oldest Catholic church still in use in Costa Rica. The church, Iglesia de San Jose de Orosi, was built in 1743 during the Colony.

Lake Cachí
Lake Cachi (Spanish: Lago de Cachí) is an artificial lake in central Costa Rica created by the Cachí Dam (Represa de Cach), an arch dam which is located in Tapantí National Park, to the southeast of Cartago in Cartago Province. The main town is Cachí, located away from the east bank of the lake. Built in the 1970s, it was one of the first hydroelectric projects in Costa Rica. It has an installed capacity of 102 MW with three units of 34 MW capacity each (Vertical Francis turbines).

Paraíso (canton)
Paraíso is the name of the second canton in the province of Cartago in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 411.91 square kilometres, and has a population of 55,923 (estimate as of 2003). The capital city of the canton is also called Paraíso. Paraíso is an elongated canton that stretches southeast from its capital city to encompass a swatch of the Cordillera de Talamanca (Talamanca Mountain Range).

Santa Lucía de Paraíso
Santa Lucía is the youngest of the districts of Paraíso, Costa Rica. It started as a "precario" in the mid eighties, that is a piece of land that was invaded by homeless people who built makeshift houses until the land was granted to them by the government so that they became the owners of the properties. The population grew so rapidly that in less than 20 years, and even if its size is just a couple of miles long, it was declared a new district.
