Palmar Sur

Palmar Sur is a town in Costa Rica, located next to Palmar Norte in the Osa region of Puntarenas Province. Palmar Norte and Palmar Sur are separated by the Rio Terraba. Palmar Sur has a regional airport that has daily flights arriving from San Jose on two regional airlines (Sansa and Nature Air).

Térraba River

Térraba River, in the southern Brunca region of Costa Rica, is the largest river in that country. The indigenous Boruca language name is Diquís which means "great river". Its basin is 5,085 square kilometres and it is 160 kilometres long, covering ten percent of the country. It is a tributary from the confluence of the Río General and Río Coto Brus. Pineapple plantations occupy 10,815 hectares in the basin, amounting to 21 percent of national production.

Osa (canton)

Osa is the name of the fifth canton in the province of Puntarenas in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 1,930.24 km², and has a population of 27,592. Its capital city is Ciudad Cortés, formerly known as Puerto Cortés. The canton begins at the Río Barú near Dominical on the central Pacific coast.

Boruca people

The Boruca (also known as the Brunca or the Brunka) are an indigenous people living in Costa Rica. The tribe has about 2,660 members, most of whom live on a reservation in the Puntarenas Province in southwestern Costa Rica. The ancestors of the modern Boruca made up a group of chiefdoms that ruled most of Costa Rica's Pacific coast, from Quepos to what is now the Panamanian border, including the Osa Peninsula. Boruca traditionally spoke the Boruca language, which is now nearly extinct.
