Aguirre (canton)

Aguirre is the name of the sixth canton in the province of Puntarenas in Costa Rica. The cantón covers an area of 543.77 km², and has a population of 21,705. Its capital city is Quepos, also known as Puerto Quepos. The county lies along the central Pacific coast between the mouths of the Río Damas and Río Barú. The northeastern border runs through high, remote coastal mountain ranges.

Quepos

Quepos is the capital of Aguirre canton in Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica. The town is about 60 km. south (in a straight line) from Costa Rica's capital, San José, but is 157 km from that city by road if going through the localities of Atenas, Orotina and Tárcoles. Quepos is the gateway to Manuel Antonio National Park. The city is very tourism-oriented, having many bars and restaurants and a vivacious night-life.

Tarrazu (canton)

Tarrazú is the name of the 5th canton in the province of San José in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 297.50 km², and has a population of 15,142. The capital city of the canton is San Marcos. The Río Pirrís (also known as Río Parrita) establishes much of the northern boundary of the three-pronged canton, which reaches south across the Coastal Mountain Range to its border with the canton of Aguirre in Puntarenas Province.
