The Jaruga is one of the oldest power-generating facilities in the world. Its present location dates back to 1903, when it was moved from the nearby original Jaruga power station built in 1895.

Miljevci plateau incident
The Miljevci plateau incident took place on Sunday, June 21, 1992 during the Croatian War of Independence. It was a surprise attack by units of the Croatian army against separatist Serb Krajina Territorial Defense positions in the area of the Miljevci Plateau, located in the Dalmatian hinterland near Drniš, and succeeded in regaining control over some 90 km of Croatian territory.
