Podstrana is a municipality and settlement in Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County. It has a population of 9,129 (2011 census), 97% which are Croats. Gata is a village located at the foot of the mountain Mosor, 16 miles east of the town of Split, and 1.3 miles inland from the coast of the Adriatic sea. It is located in the area of Poljica, near the river Cetina, at an elevation of 932 ft.
