Ravni Kotari

Ravni Kotari is a geographical region in Croatia. It is situated in northern Dalmatia, around Zadar and east of it. It is bordered by Bukovica to the northeast, lower Krka on the southeast and the Adriatic Sea. The biggest settlement of the region is the town of Benkovac. Nin, Croatia

Nin (Latin: Aenona or Nona) is a town in the Zadar county of Croatia, population 1,256 (2001), total municipality population 4,603 (2001). Nin was historically important as a centre of a medieval Christian Bishopric. Up to the abolition and Latinization imposed by King Tomislav in the first half of the 10th century, Nin was the centre of the autonomous Croatian branch of the Church. Nin was also the seat of the Princes of Dalmatia.

Church of the Holy Cross, Nin

Church of the Holy Cross (Croatian: Crkva svetog Križa) is a Croatian Pre-Romanesque Catholic church originating from the 9th century in Nin. According to a theory from an art historian Mladen Pejaković, the design has an intentionally unbalanced elliptical form designated to "follow" the position of the Sun, retaining the functionality of a calendar and sundial. In its beginning, in the time of the Croatian principality, it was used as a royal chapel of the duke's courtyard nearby.

Vrsi

Vrsi is a settlement and municipality in Croatia in the Zadar County. The name translates as "above", "on the top". The village of Vrsi was first mentioned in written documents in 1387. Since 2006, Vrsi is classified as municipality.
