Los Haitises National Park

Los Haitises National Park is a national park located on the remote northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. It is a protected virgin forest with little road access. The number of tourists allowed is limited, but since 2000 it has been a relatively popular destination for ecotourism. Haitis (singular) means highland or mountain range in the Taíno language, although the elevation of the park's hills ranges from 30–40 m (&#160). There is a multitude of caverns created by water erosion.

Majagual, Monte Plata

A small town behind Los Haitises National Park. The town was founded during the 1930s by immigrant families from el Cibao. But there are evidence of settlement going back hundred of year, Taino cave and ornament are found by farmer working the land. There are Fiesta Patronales(Village Festival) on the 10 of March every year, many Majagualeños that live abroad in the U. S travel to this remote town to celebrate. Nagua

Nagua is the capital of María Trinidad Sánchez province, in the northeastern Dominican Republic. A medium-sized town, Nagua's economy relies on the production of agricultural products, principally rice, coconuts, and cocoa bean. Located on the north of the Samaná Peninsula, Nagua lies on the highway leading from Puerto Plata to the city of Samaná. Most of the town lies below sea level, which some believe makes Nagua susceptible to flooding that could destroy a substantial part of the town.
