Damietta

Damietta, also known as Damiata, or Domyat, is a port and the capital of the Damietta Governorate in Egypt. It is located at the Damietta branch, a distributary of the Nile, 15 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, about 200 kilometres north of Cairo.

Caphutkia

Caphutkia (also Capotakia or Kapotakia) in Aramaic קפוטקיא, קפוטקאי, קפודקאי, (later Katpatuka in Old Persian) was the name used in mediaeval Jewish and Syriac writings for the town in the vicinity of the former Ptolemaic city of Pelusium and its later Arab counterpart Damietta. Caphutkia is mentioned in the Targums and the Syriac commentary on Genesis where it is identified with the locality called Caphtor in the Bible.

Damietta Port

Egypt's Damietta Port is situated 8.5 km west of the Nile river of Damietta branch westward Ras El-Bar, and it is 70 km away from Port Said. The port installations extend on an area of 11.8 km. The port is bordered by an imaginary line connecting the eastern and western external breakwaters.

Ras El Bar

Ras El Bar, which means "head of land" or the "golden triangle", is a resort city in the Governorate of Damietta, in northeast Egypt. It is located at Mediterranean Sea, at the mouth of the Damietta river, a distributary of the Nile, opposite Izbat al-Burj. There are approximately 25,000 permanent residents in the city. However, during the summer peak holiday season, from July to September, the population quickly expands to over 250,000.

Damietta University

Damietta University is an extension of Mansoura University in Damietta, in the Damietta Governorate in Egypt. The idea of opening classes for some faculties there began when the number of Mansoura University students in Damietta increased. The decision to open branch colleges followed.
