Caphutkia (also Capotakia or Kapotakia) in Aramaic קפוטקיא, קפוטקאי, קפודקאי, (later Katpatuka in Old Persian) was the name used in mediaeval Jewish and Syriac writings for the town in the vicinity of the former Ptolemaic city of Pelusium and its later Arab counterpart Damietta. Ras El Bar, which means "head of land" or the "golden triangle", is a resort city in the Governorate of Damietta, in northeast Egypt. It is located at Mediterranean Sea, at the mouth of the Damietta river, a distributary of the Nile, opposite Izbat al-Burj. There are approximately 25,000 permanent residents in the city. However, during the summer peak holiday season, from July to September, the population quickly expands to over 250,000.
