Pi-Ramesses
Pi-Ramesses (Pi-Ramesses Aa-nakhtu, meaning "House of Ramesses, Great in Victory") was the new capital built by the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt Pharaoh Ramesses II (Ramesses the Great, reigned 1279-1213 BC) at Qantir near the old site of Avaris. The city had previously served as a summer palace under Seti I (c. 1290 BC - 1279 BC) and may have been originally founded by Ramesses I (c. 1292-1290 BC) while he served under Horemheb.

Qantir
Qantir is a modern village in Egypt. This city is situated about 9 kilometers north of Faqus in Sharqiyah province of the eastern Nile Delta, about 60 miles north-east of Cairo.

Bahr El-Baqar primary school bombing
The Bahr el-Baqar primary school bombing occurred on 8 April 1970, during the War of Attrition. The Israeli Air Force carried out an air raid on the Egyptian village of Bahr el-Baqar, in the eastern province of Sharqiyya. The raid resulted in the destruction of a primary school that was in use during the attack, killing 46 children. Israel claims that it had thought the school was an Egyptian military installation.

Avaris was the capital of Egypt under the Hyksos. It was located at modern Tell el-Dab'a in the northeastern region of the Nile Delta, at the juncture of the 8th, 14th, 19th and 20th Nomes.
